Skin Conditions
CONTRA-INDICATIONS:
Glaucoma - Glaucoma is a common eye condition where the optic nerve, which connects the eye to the brain, becomes damaged. It's usually caused by fluid building up in the front part of the eye, which increases pressure inside the eye. Glaucoma can lead to loss of vision if it's not diagnosed early.
Psoriasis - Psoriasis is a skin condition that causes red, flaky, crusty patches of skin covered with silvery scales. These patches normally appear on your elbows, knees, scalp, and lower back, but can appear anywhere on the body. Most people are only affected with small patches. In some cases, the patches can be itchy and sore.
Conjunctivitis - Inflammation or infection of the transparent membrane (conjunctiva) that lines your eyelid and covers the white part of your eyeball. When small blood vessels in the conjunctiva become inflamed, they're more visible. This is what causes the whites of your eyes to appear reddish or pink.
Folliculitis - a common skin condition in which hair follicles become inflamed. It's usually caused by bacterial or fungal infection. At first it may look like small red small red bumps or white-headed pimp[les around hair follicles - the tiny pockets from which each hair grows.
Blepharitis - an inflammation along the edges of the eyelids. The eyelids can become irritated and itchy, and appear greasy and crusted with scales that cling to the lashes. People with blepharitis sometimes wake with their eyelids stuck together.
Cataract - Cataract are when the lens, a small transparent disc inside your eye, develops cloudy patches. Over time these patches usually become bigger causing blurry, misty vision and eventually blindness. When we were young, our lenses are usually like clear glass, allowing us to see through them.
Trichotillomania - also known as rich, is when someone cannot resist the urge to pull out their hair. They may pull out the hair on their head or in other places, such as their eyebrows or eyelashes. Trish is more common in teenagers and young adults.
Alopecia - a condition that causes hair to fall out in small patches, which can be unnoticeable. The condition develops when the immune system attacks the hair follicles, resulting in hair loss.
