Wrinkles/ muscle theory
WRINKLES AND MUSCLES
MUSCLES:
- Frontalis - This Muscle is responsible for the elevation of the brows, which is also the muscle that causes you to have fine to deep lines in the forehead.
- Orbicularis Oculi - This muscle is responsible for the closure of the eyelids and draws the brows towards the eyes.
- Corrugator Supercilia - This muscle acts as a leisure for the nasal eyebrow inferiorly and medially, producing vertical glabellar wrinkles.
- Procerus - this muscle pulls the eyebrows inferiorly (downwards).
WRINKLES:
There are multiple factors when it comes to wrinkles, some of which you can influence and others that you can't, contribute to the development of wrinkles.
- Age. The skin naturally becomes less elastic and more delicate as you age. The skin becomes drier and wrinkled as the natural oils that keep it moisturized are produced less.
- The skin's deeper layers of fat get thinner. Skin becomes saggy and loose as a result, and wrinkles and crevices become more obvious.
- Ultraviolet (UV) light exposure Early wrinkling is mostly brought on by ultraviolet light, which has the effect of speeding up natural aging. The connective tissue in the skin, which is composed of collagen and elastin fibres and is located in the deeper layer of the skin, is destroyed by UV radiation exposure (dermis).
- The skin becomes less flexible and strong without supporting connective tissue.
- The skin subsequently starts to prematurely droop and wrinkle.
- Smoking.
